We were delighted to present our first series in the atmospheric ambience of St Bride's Episcopal Church in the heart of Glasgow's West End.
Spring 2011 Piano Recitals
2011 was the bicentenary of the Hungarian composer Franz Liszt (1811-1886), renowned as one of the most charismatic and virtuoso pianists of all time.
To highlight this anniversary and inaugurate St Bride's new piano, Gusztáv Fenyő performed two solo recitals: the first, on Friday 25th March was a mixed programme of works by composers who were not only outstanding pianists but also wrote exceptional music for the instrument, stretching the boundaries of the piano literature.
His second recital, on Friday 27th May, was dedicated to music by Liszt, including one of his greatest piano compositions, the Sonata in B minor.
